Qin Jian, associate professor at the School of Communication Engineering, Chongqing University.He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Xian Jiao Tong University,  in 1999. His M.S. degree and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, were received from Chonging University, in 2003, respectively. From 2009 to 2012, he was a postdoctoral joint research station of Chongqing University and Fiberhome Group. During this period, he successively engaged in the research and development of multimedia communications and handheld embedded devices in companies such as Datang Telecom, TCL Mobile, and Jinmei Communications.

Currently engaged in research on wireless video communication and intelligent video signal processing, he has published and accepted more than 10 academic papers, many of which are included in SCI/EI. Obtained a number of national invention and utility model patents.

Research direction 1: Intelligent video information processing

This direction is mainly aimed at the large demand for video information analysis and understanding in applications such as intelligent security and autonomous driving, and studies computer vision, artificial intelligence processing algorithms, and embedded hardware acceleration implementation. Mainly used in video target detection, tracking, human-computer interaction and scene understanding and other fields.

Research direction 2: Video codec and wireless transmission

This direction is mainly aimed at the real-time communication requirements of massive video data in a large number of emerging applications such as high-definition, AR, and VR, and researches advanced video codec compression technology, long-distance wireless communication technology, and corresponding embedded devices. It is mainly used in remote video surveillance, emergency communication, real-time image transmission of UAVs/unmanned vehicles, etc.
